Sonam Tshomo runs a tidy and charming farm stay in the village of Chokhortoe, Bumthang. In additional to comfortable bedrooms, Sonom offers warm hospitality (she speaks English and enjoys conversing with her guests), a prayer room that guests can use for meditation, a dedicated weaving room where she works on traditional yathra wool weaving (which Bumthang is known for), and traditional hot stone bath.
Sonam also specializes in making homemade Jangbuli, a local noodle dish that is native to Bumthang. It is mixed with spices and fresh herbs. Bumthang historically did not grow rice, so the local people relied on noodles as a staple of their diet.
