Hotel Home offers clean, basic accommodation a 2 kilometre walk from Jakar, the capital of Bumthang district. Their staff is attentive and friendly, and Home's guests rooms provide plenty of space to stretch out after a day exploring. All rooms are heated with a bukhari traditional wood-burning stove, which must be fed from time to time to keep the room warm. Wood is stacked in rooms and Home staff are happy to light a fire when asked.
Guest rooms are available as standards, deluxe singles, or deluxe doubles, and all come with attached baths, cable TV, room service, and laundry service. Deluxe rooms have a windowside table and chair overlooking the valley. (Tip: Be sure to ask if a room with a view is available.) The dining room and bar are one large room with beautifully carved wood beams overhead and colorfully painted walls, cozy with a bukhari and chairs around it for confabbing. The food they serve is decent, in Bhutanese, Chinese, Continental, and Indian styles.
