Damchen Resort is just a few hundred feet away from Punakha's Puna Tsang Chu; many of its rooms face the river and the scenic green hills beyond. Damchen strikes a balance between the traditional and the modern with a calm, peaceful green garden oasis feel that features only the finest linens, tapestries, and amenities in its guest rooms. The resort also arranges bike tours and other outdoor activities for its guests.
Damchen offers accommodation in Standard, Puna Chu (semi-deluxe), and Oval (deluxe) categories. All rooms are spacious and tidy with quality furnishings, and come with en-suite bathroom, TV, room heater and fan, minibar, water bottle, free wifi, and complementary coffee/tea. Standard rooms have either twin or queen size beds (for single and coupled guests, respectively). Puna Chu rooms and Oval rooms are all the same size and have the same amenities (including sofa sets), and all face the river and the green hills beyond it. The Puna Chu rooms have added beds to accommodate larger groups, and Oval rooms have queen size beds. The latter also have an oval window and large glass windows for enjoying the scenic views.
Damchen's restaurant serves Bhutanese, Indian, and Continental cuisines prepared by trained chefs, and their bar stocks beer, scotch, and fine wines.
