Lhuentse Chorten

Situated at the base of a ridge to the east of Lhuentse Dzong and on the way to Singye Dzong (fortress of the lion), the majestic Lhuentse Chorten stands magnificently on the banks of Kurichu on the right and Khomachu on the left.

The magnificent Lhuentse stupa which sits amidst 108 smaller stupas around it, was built somewhere in the year 2014, by Lama Namdrol Zangpo Rinpoche with support from Gonpo Karpo Lama and members of nearby communities. Dedicated to the welfare of all sentient beings, this ‘stupa of enlightenment’ is a welcome sight while you are in Lhuentse, one of the remotest districts in Bhutan.
