Situated in the lush Limithang area, Yoeser Farmhouse, with its fruit orchards and friendly hosts, provides the perfect halt for the night for travelers voyaging across the country.
Farmhouse owners Sonam and her husband Thinley Namgyal may welcome guests in their living room with tea and oranges from their garden. They serve meals consisting of various homegrown vegetables from their garden and a nightcap of their own ara. The farmhouse has simple and clean rooms.
Beautifully located in the middle of rice paddies filled with ripe grains dripping from their stalks, many other crops grow here: cabbage, carrots, broccoli, pumpkin, beans, cucumber and onions - just to name a few. Groves with avocados, papaya, bananas, oranges, and guavas surround the traditional farmhouse. Next to the house they have a covered plant nursery where they grow various kinds of flowers and saplings for the market.
Sonam is a great cook; many locals stop here just to enjoy some of her food or her famous banana chips. She is an innovative woman, chairwoman of the local farmers’ cooperative, who has started her own jam production with fruits from her garden and once held a position in parliament.
