Situated on the flats alongside the Mo Chhu (Female River) in Punakha, surrounded by a scattering of trees, this campground is popular with tourists and locals alike. Share some stories with them around a bonfire after a day of whitewater rafting. Or play a round of games: the grounds are set up for games of khuru and archery, and there's a volleyball court and net. Tents are provided for tourists as part of the daily rate, and simple bathroom facilities are available on-site (running water, but not hot water; standing toilets, but not flushing toilets). It's your basic camping experience without any frills. But because you're in beautiful Punakha, it's transcendent. And the lullaby of the river flowing past will lull you to sleep at night.
