Jigme Namgyel Polytechnic

The Jigme Namgyal Polytechnic is located in the picturesque Dewathang town; a town that arguably holds the greatest historical significance owing to it being the host of Bhutan’s victory over the British in 1841 and the conduction of Operation All Clear against the Assam Separatist insurgent groups in 2003.

Situated at an elevation of 800m, 18 kilometers away from Samdrup Jongkhar town, the engineering college was founded in 1972 and up until 2001, it was the only tertiary level institute of education with the sole aim of meeting the engineering manpower requirement of Bhutan.

Jigme Namgyel Polytechnic College aspires to provide an excellent opportunity for students pursuing Diploma level programs in Engineering, Technology and Management. The college has well developed academic facilities including a library, sports and entertainment centers, internet access, conference halls and residential blocks for students.
