Royal Institute of Management

Just below Semtokha Dzong at the southern end of the Thimphu Valley, the Royal Institute of Management has been educating Bhutanese executives since the mid-1980s.

With four main departments awarding diplomas at the Masters and postgraduate levels -- in finance, development, IT and consultancy -- the institute has come a long way from its origins as a school for typists and stenographers. Now Bhutan's premier business school, much of the modern campus is built in the traditional style, making it an attractive place to wander after a visit to the nearby dzong.
