The Bhutan Economic Forum for Innovative Transformation (BEFIT) is a platform that supports the coming together of experts from various fields and backgrounds, in a bid to share innovative ideas, practices and solutions to address emerging national and regional economic challenges. Upholding His Majesty’s vision of a just, equal and a harmonious society, the transformation and improvement of lives remains the priority of BEFIT. The auspicious birth of the Royal Heir, our beloved Gyalsey on February 5, 2016, brought about an eruption of joy across the nation, a nation that celebrated in sincere gratitude of a prayer answered. Joining the revelry and keeping with the traditions, representatives of the financial institutions contributed money and offered it to His Majesty as a simple offering of gratitude. His Majesty accepted the contribution only to add an equal amount from his side and gifted it back with the command to set up an endowment fund for the benefit of the nation. Thus, the arrival of His Royal Highness the Gyalsey also saw the birth of BEFIT, the answers to a nation’s collective prayers and realization of one of his His Majesty’s selfless and farsighted visions.
